Hidden Power is a special move in Pokémon whose type is determined by a Pokémon's individual values (IVs). The type can be any of the 16 types (excluding Fairy in later generations).

Q1: Can Hidden Power be any type?
A: In generations 2-5, it can be any of 16 types (excluding Fairy). From Gen 6 onward, Fairy was added but Hidden Power cannot be Fairy type.
Q2: How do I change my Pokémon's Hidden Power type?
A: You must breed or catch a new Pokémon with different IVs, as Hidden Power type is determined by IVs which cannot be changed.
Q3: Does Hidden Power's base power vary?
A: In generations 2-5, yes (30-70). From Gen 6 onward, it's always 60 power.
Q4: Can I tell Hidden Power type in-game?
A: In some games, NPCs can tell you your Pokémon's Hidden Power type (e.g., the man in the house northwest of the Pokémon Center in Fortree City in RSE).
Q5: Are there any Pokémon that commonly use Hidden Power?
A: Many special attackers use Hidden Power for coverage, such as Hidden Power Fire on Grass-types to counter Steel-types.
