Skateboard Complete Build Guide: Craft, Earn, Upgrade

Card No. 06·37560 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

The calculator on this card is switched off while it is checked. The formula is below, and the worked example shows how to do the sum by hand.

This guide covers every way to craft, earn, and upgrade a skateboard in the game Bizarre Legacy (often called Bizarre Skateboarding). You’ll learn the exact crafting recipes, the fastest earning methods, and the full upgrade path from a basic deck to a fully tuned board.

Formula

The earning formula in Bizarre Legacy is simple: you earn coins based on time spent skating, distance covered, and tricks performed. The exact formula is:

Earnings = (Time in minutes × 2) + (Distance in km × 10) + (Tricks performed × 3)

Where:

  • Time – total minutes you are actively skating (not in menus)
  • Distance – total kilometers traveled on your board
  • Tricks – number of tricks landed (kickflips, grinds, etc.)

This formula is the base rate before any multipliers from upgrades or premium passes.

Worked Example

Using the default values from the calculator above:

  1. Time = 50 minutes → 50 × 2 = 100 coins
  2. Distance = 10 km → 10 × 10 = 100 coins
  3. Tricks = 20 → 20 × 3 = 60 coins
  4. Total = 100 + 100 + 60 = 260 coins

So after a 50-minute session covering 10 km with 20 tricks, you earn 260 coins. The calculator rounds to the nearest whole coin.

How to Craft a Skateboard

Crafting a skateboard in Bizarre Legacy requires three main components: a deck, trucks, and wheels. You can obtain these through the in-game crafting menu (accessible from the main hub).

  • Deck – Crafted from 5 Wood Planks and 2 Paint Buckets. Wood planks are found by breaking crates in the skatepark or bought from the shop.
  • Trucks – Crafted from 3 Metal Scraps and 1 Rubber Grip. Metal scraps drop from rail grinding challenges.
  • Wheels – Crafted from 4 Plastic Scraps and 1 Bearing Kit. Plastic scraps come from recycling old boards.

Once you have all parts, go to the Crafting Bench, select “Skateboard,” and combine them. The base board has no stats and is purely cosmetic.

How to Earn Coins Fast

Coins are the main currency for buying parts and upgrades. Here are the most effective ways to earn them:

  • Complete Daily Challenges – These reset every 24 hours and give bonus coins (usually 100–500) for tasks like “land 10 kickflips” or “travel 5 km.”
  • Grind Rails – Grinding gives 3 coins per grind, but if you chain multiple grinds without touching the ground, you get a combo multiplier (up to 5×).
  • Race Events – Join the weekly time-trial event. Finishing in the top 50% gives 1,000 coins, top 10% gives 5,000.
  • Sell Old Parts – When you upgrade, sell the old deck/trucks/wheels at the shop for 50% of their original cost.

Pro tip: Focus on distance for passive earning – you get 10 coins per km, so a 10 km session gives 100 coins just for skating around.

Upgrade Path: From Basic to Pro

Upgrading your skateboard improves its stats: Speed, Control, and Pop (jump height). The upgrade system uses a tier system:

  1. Wood (Base) – Speed 2, Control 2, Pop 1. No special abilities.
  2. Metal – Speed 3, Control 3, Pop 2. Requires 10 Metal Scraps and 500 coins.
  3. Carbon Fiber – Speed 4, Control 4, Pop 3. Requires 15 Carbon Fibers (rare drop from event crates) and 2,000 coins.
  4. Titanium – Speed 5, Control 5, Pop 4. Requires 20 Titanium Bars (crafted from 5 Metal Scraps each) and 10,000 coins.
  5. Legendary (Glow) – Speed 6, Control 6, Pop 5. Requires 1 Legendary Core (from the final story mission) and 50,000 coins.

Each upgrade also changes the board’s appearance (color, glow, particle effects). Upgrades are permanent – you don’t lose them if you craft a new deck.

How to Choose the Right Board for Your Playstyle

Your choice of board should match how you like to play:

  • Speed-focused – Choose Metal or Titanium for racing and time trials. Higher speed makes it easier to beat records.
  • Trick-focused – Carbon Fiber is best because it balances Pop and Control, making flip tricks more consistent.
  • Exploration – Wood is fine if you’re just collecting items, but you’ll want at least Metal to climb hills faster.

If you’re unsure, go for Carbon Fiber – it’s the best all-rounder and not too expensive.

Common Problems and How to Fix Them

Players often run into these issues:

  • Board not responding – Check if your controller is connected. If it is, restart the game. This usually fixes input lag.
  • Can’t craft because a part is missing – Double-check the recipe. Many players forget the Rubber Grip for trucks.
  • Coins not increasing after a run – Make sure you end the run properly (return to the menu) instead of quitting mid-run. Quitting forfeits earnings.
  • Upgrade button grayed out – You need to have the required materials AND the exact coin amount. If you have more, it still works, but if you have less, it won’t.

If none of these work, try reinstalling the game – your progress is saved to the cloud.

Safety and Fair Play Notes

While Bizarre Legacy is a game, the developers encourage fair play. Do not use mods or exploits to get coins or items – this can get your account banned. Also, remember that real-world skateboarding has risks; always wear a helmet and pads if you’re inspired to try it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a skateboard without crafting?

Yes, you can buy a pre-built board from the shop for 2,000 coins. It’s a basic Wood board, so you’ll still need to upgrade it. Crafting is cheaper if you have the materials.

How do I get Carbon Fiber?

Carbon Fiber drops from event crates that appear randomly in the skatepark. You can also get it by completing the “Pro Skater” achievement (land 100 tricks in one run).

What’s the fastest way to level up my board?

Focus on distance and tricks simultaneously. Skate in a straight line while doing kickflips – you’ll earn both distance and trick coins. A 30-minute session can yield 300–500 coins.

Is the Legendary board worth it?

Yes, if you’re a completionist. It’s the only board with a glow effect and the highest stats. But it costs 50,000 coins, so it’s a long-term goal. For most players, Titanium is enough.

Can I trade or sell my skateboard to other players?

No, the game does not support trading. You can only sell parts to the shop for coins.

Do upgrades carry over if I craft a new deck?

Yes, upgrades are tied to your character, not the deck. Once you upgrade to Titanium, you can put it on any deck you craft.
