This guide explains how to break progression walls and level up fast in Cookie Run: Crumble. You’ll learn the core loop, how to spend resources wisely, and which cookies to prioritize so you can push through difficult stages without getting stuck.

Formula

The calculator estimates how fast you can level a cookie based on your play time and current level. The formula is:

XP per hour = Current Level × 150

Days to Level 80 = (80 − Current Level) × 5000 ÷ (XP per hour × 24)

Where:

  • Total Play Time (hours) – how many hours you play per day (min 0, max 24).
  • Current Cookie Level – the level of the cookie you’re training (1–80).
  • XP per hour – a rough estimate of XP earned per hour of active play, assuming you’re clearing stages near your level.
  • Days to Level 80 – the estimated number of days needed to reach max level, based on your input.

This is a rough estimate. Actual XP rates vary by stage, events, and how efficiently you farm.

Worked Example

Using the default values: you play 10 hours a day, and your cookie is level 30.

  1. XP per hour = 30 × 150 = 4,500 XP/h
  2. XP needed to reach 80 = (80 − 30) × 5,000 = 250,000 XP
  3. Days = 250,000 ÷ (4,500 × 24) = 250,000 ÷ 108,000 ≈ 2.3 days

The calculator shows 2.3 days (rounded to 1 decimal). This assumes you play 10 hours daily and earn XP at the estimated rate.

Understanding Progression Walls

In Cookie Run: Crumble, a progression wall usually means your cookies are too weak to clear the next story stage or boss. This happens because you’ve hit a level cap, your toppings aren’t upgraded, or your team composition is wrong. The game is a gacha RPG, so you’ll often need to grind for resources rather than just playing the next stage.

The main resources are:

  • Jellies – used for leveling cookies
  • Toppings – equipment that boosts stats
  • Skill Powders – used to upgrade cookie skills
  • Gold – used for almost everything
  • Crystals – premium currency for gacha pulls

How to Break Progression Walls

When you hit a wall, do these in order:

  1. Level up your main cookies – use Jellies to raise their level. Aim for at least level 40 on your main team before attempting chapter 3.
  2. Upgrade toppings – even common toppings at +6 are better than none. Focus on ATK and HP toppings for damage dealers and tanks.
  3. Upgrade skills – skill levels matter as much as cookie levels. Use Skill Powders on your main damage dealer first.
  4. Evolve cookies – if you have duplicate cookies, use them to evolve and increase star rating. This boosts stats significantly.
  5. Switch team composition – sometimes you need a healer or a tank. Don’t just use your highest rarity cookies.

How to Level Up Fast

Fast leveling means maximizing XP per stamina. Here’s what works:

  • Farm the highest story stage you can clear consistently – you get more XP per stamina on later stages.
  • Use stamina efficiently – don’t let stamina cap out. Log in multiple times a day to use it.
  • Complete daily missions – they give large XP jellies and gold.
  • Participate in events – events often give bonus XP or level-up materials.
  • Use XP boost items – if you have them, activate them before a long farming session.

Choosing Which Cookies to Invest In

Not all cookies are equal. Early on, you should invest in:

  • A strong damage dealer – often a rare or epic cookie with high ATK.
  • A healer – healers keep your team alive in tough stages.
  • A tank – someone who can absorb damage.
  • Support cookies – those that buff or debuff.

Check the tier list in the community, but don’t ignore lower rarity cookies. Some common cookies are surprisingly good and easier to evolve.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

New players often make these mistakes:

  • Wasting crystals on stamina – save crystals for gacha pulls, not stamina (unless you’re close to a reward).
  • Ignoring toppings – toppings are a huge stat boost, but many players skip them.
  • Spreading resources too thin – focus on 4-5 cookies, not 10.
  • Not joining a guild – guilds give extra rewards and help.
  • Auto-battling tough stages – sometimes you need manual control to avoid enemy attacks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to get Jellies for leveling?

The fastest way is to farm the highest story stage you can clear, especially during double XP events. Also, complete daily missions and check the shop for Jelly bundles that cost gold.

Should I spend Crystals on gacha or stamina?

Generally, save Crystals for gacha pulls, because getting new cookies or duplicates to evolve them is more impactful long-term. Only spend on stamina if you’re about to level up or need to finish an event.

How do I get Skill Powders?

Skill Powders drop from story stages and can be bought in the guild shop. You can also get them from events and daily rewards.

What is the best team composition early on?

A balanced team is one tank, one healer, and two damage dealers. If you don’t have a healer, use a cookie with a healing skill or rely on toppings that give HP.

How do I evolve a cookie?

You need duplicate cookies of the same rarity. Go to the Cookie menu, select the cookie, and tap the Evolve button if you have enough copies.

Is it better to level up one cookie to max or spread evenly?

Focus on one damage dealer first to get them as high as possible. Then level the rest of your team to about 80% of that level. This helps you clear stages faster and earn more XP.
