Introns are the main account-progression currency in Duet Night Abyss, used for upgrading your Abyss talents and unlocking key passive bonuses. You get them from a mix of daily missions, weekly challenges, and repeatable endgame content, with a guaranteed weekly cap from the game’s rotating modes. This guide covers every reliable source, how to prioritize your farming, and common mistakes that waste your time.

Formula

The calculator above estimates your weekly Intron income. The formula is:

Total weekly Introns = Weekly fixed sources + (Runs per week × Average Introns per run)

  • Weekly fixed sources – the sum of all one-time weekly rewards (e.g., 500 from weekly missions, 300 from the Abyss Tower clear).
  • Runs per week – how many repeatable runs you do (e.g., Void Rifts, Material Stages).
  • Average per run – the typical drop you see per run, which varies by difficulty and mode.

All values are in Introns. The result shows your estimated weekly total and how many additional runs you need to hit a specific target.

Worked Example

Using the default values: you need 1,000 Introns, you do 10 runs per week, and each run gives 120 on average.

  1. Weekly fixed sources: assume 500 (from missions and tower).
  2. Repeatable income: 10 runs × 120 = 1,200.
  3. Total: 500 + 1,200 = 1,700 Introns.
  4. Runs to hit target: (1,000 − 1,200) / 120 = 0 (you already exceed it).

The calculator rounds to 0 because the target is met without extra runs.

What Are Introns and Why They Matter

Introns are the purple currency found in your character menu under the “Abyss tab. They are used to level up your Abyss talent tree, which grants permanent stat boosts like increased crit rate, elemental damage, and skill cooldown reduction. Unlike gold or upgrade materials, Introns cannot be bought with real money – they are earned exclusively through gameplay. This makes efficient farming essential for endgame progression, especially for players pushing high-difficulty content.

There is a common misconception that Introns are only for late-game players. In reality, you start earning them as soon as you unlock the Abyss system (around account level 20), and early investment pays off because the first few talent nodes are cheap and give large relative gains.

All Weekly Sources (Guaranteed Income)

These are the sources that reset weekly and are the backbone of your Intron income. You should complete all of them before doing repeatable farming.

  • Weekly Missions – Complete the 5 weekly mission objectives (e.g., defeat 50 elites, clear 3 Abyss floors). Total reward: 300 Introns.
  • Abyss Tower – Clearing floor 10 and 20 gives 100 Introns each, and the weekly clear bonus adds another 200. Total: 400 Introns.
  • Void Rift – Challenge Mode – First clear of the week gives 150 Introns, plus a bonus 50 for using the recommended element. Total: 200 Introns.
  • Guild Contributions – If your guild reaches level 5 weekly, you get 100 Introns from the guild warehouse. This requires active participation.

Adding these up gives a guaranteed 1,000 Introns per week with minimal effort. This is the baseline you should always hit.

Repeatable Farming Sources (Unlimited)

Beyond the weekly cap, you can farm Introns indefinitely from these sources. The drop rates vary, but the best methods are:

  • Void Rift – Normal Mode – Each run drops 80–120 Introns, takes about 5 minutes. Best for solo players.
  • Abyss Tower Floors 1–9 – Repeatable after weekly reset, each floor gives 50–70 Introns. Floors 1–5 are quick and efficient.
  • Material Stages (Level 60+) – The “Intron Cache stage in the event tab gives 150–200 per run, but only during limited-time events. Always prioritize this when available.
  • Co-op Boss Raids – Each boss kill gives 30–50 Introns, and you can queue infinitely. Good for group play.

For pure efficiency, the best repeatable method is Void Rift Normal Mode on the highest difficulty you can clear in under 4 minutes. You should aim for at least 10 runs per week, which adds roughly 1,000–1,200 Introns on top of your weekly sources.

How to Prioritize Your Farming

Not all Intron sources are equal in time investment. Here is a priority order based on Introns per minute:

  1. Weekly missions – Do these first; they often complete naturally while doing other content.
  2. Abyss Tower floor 20 clear – The 200 Intron bonus is the single largest source.
  3. Void Rift Challenge first clear – 150 Introns for one run.
  4. Material stage event – If an event is live, farm it until the event ends; it’s the best rate in the game.
  5. Void Rift Normal repeat – Only after all above are done.

A common mistake is spending hours on repeatable farming before finishing the weekly tower. The tower gives 400 Introns for about 30 minutes of work, while Void Rift gives 120 per 5-minute run – the tower is roughly 2x more efficient.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

Mistake 1: Ignoring the weekly cap. Some players think they can farm unlimited Introns from the tower, but floors 1–9 only give rewards once per week. After that, you get only a small amount of gold. Check the “Rewards tab before each run.

Mistake 2: Farming on too high a difficulty. If a Void Rift run takes more than 8 minutes, you are better off dropping down a difficulty. The Intron drop only increases by ~20%, but the time doubles.

Mistake 3: Saving Introns for “later. The Abyss talent tree has no level cap, and the cost increases linearly. There is no benefit to hoarding – spend them as soon as you have enough for the next node.

Misconception: “Introns are account-bound, so alts don’t help. This is true – Introns are shared across characters on the same account, but you cannot transfer them to another account. Creating an alt only helps if you want to test different builds, not for farming.

Comparison: Introns vs. Other Currencies

Introns are often confused with two other currencies:

  • Gold – Used for gear upgrades and character leveling. Gold is abundant and can be bought with real money. Introns are strictly for Abyss talents.
  • Stellar Gems – The premium currency used for gacha pulls. Gems can be converted to Introns at a rate of 1:10, but this is a terrible trade because gems are much rarer. Never convert gems to Introns unless you are a whale.

The key difference is that Introns have a weekly soft cap from fixed sources, while gold and gems have no such limit. This makes Introns the bottleneck for long-term progression.

Costs and Efficiency Analysis

To fully max out the Abyss talent tree, you need approximately 25,000 Introns. Here is what that means in terms of time:

  • Weekly fixed sources: 1,000 Introns = 25 weeks to max.
  • With 10 repeatable runs (1,200 Introns): 2,200/week = 11.4 weeks.
  • With 20 repeatable runs (2,400 Introns): 3,400/week = 7.4 weeks.

Most players will realistically do 10–15 runs per week, putting the max at around 10–12 weeks. This is a long-term goal, so do not burn out trying to rush it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I get Introns from daily missions?
No, daily missions give gold and upgrade materials, not Introns. Only weekly missions and repeatable modes give Introns.

Q: Is there a daily cap on repeatable Intron farming?
No, you can farm Void Rift indefinitely, but each run has a stamina cost (30 stamina). Once you run out of stamina, you cannot continue. Stamina regenerates at 1 per 5 minutes, so you are limited to about 288 stamina per day.

Q: Do co-op bosses give more Introns than solo?
Co-op bosses give the same base drop, but you get a 10% bonus for playing with friends. The bonus is small, so solo is fine unless you enjoy co-op.

Q: What happens to extra Introns after maxing the tree?
There is no use for them after maxing. The game does not offer a conversion or exchange. You simply stop earning them.

Q: Are there any one-time Intron rewards from story quests?
Yes, the main story gives a total of about 800 Introns across all chapters. These are one-time only, so do not rely on them for weekly income.

Q: Does the weekly reset happen at the same time for all players?
Yes, the weekly reset is global and happens every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Plan your farming around that.
