Yes, the Forgotten Temple gate in Fisch is unlocked by finding and interacting with three hidden runes scattered across the Ancient Isle. Each rune is a glowing, interactive object; once you activate all three, the temple gate opens permanently for your game session. This guide details exactly where to find each rune, how to activate them, and what to do once the gate is open.

Formula

The calculator above works out your average pace and speed for a run or walk. Enter the total time you spent moving and the distance you covered. The formula for pace is:

pace (min/km) = time (minutes) ÷ distance (km)

And for speed:

speed (km/h) = distance (km) ÷ (time (minutes) ÷ 60)

Variables: t = total time in minutes, d = distance in kilometers. Pace is shown as minutes per kilometer, and speed as kilometers per hour. If you prefer miles, convert distance to kilometers first (1 mile = 1.60934 km) or use the pace result and multiply by 0.621371 to get minutes per mile.

Worked Example

Using the default values: you ran 5 km in 30 minutes (the default time is 10 minutes, but let’s use a realistic example).

  1. Pace = 30 ÷ 5 = 6.00 min/km
  2. Speed = 5 ÷ (30 ÷ 60) = 5 ÷ 0.5 = 10.00 km/h

So with 30 minutes and 5 km, your average pace is 6 minutes per kilometer, and your average speed is 10 km/h. The calculator rounds to two decimal places.

Why Pace and Speed Matter

Knowing your pace helps you plan training sessions, set realistic goals, and monitor improvement. Speed is useful for comparing efforts across different distances, especially in flat conditions. For hilly routes, pace is often more meaningful because speed fluctuates with elevation. Use this calculator to track your progress over weeks or months – a consistent improvement in pace at the same effort level indicates better fitness.

Common Mistakes

One frequent error is mixing up units: if you enter distance in miles but time in minutes, the pace result will be in minutes per mile, but the label says min/km. Always convert to kilometers first. Another mistake is forgetting to convert seconds into decimal minutes – for example, 30:30 should be entered as 30.5 minutes. Also, the calculator assumes you are moving the whole time; if you take breaks, the pace will be slower than your actual running pace. Use the moving time, not the total elapsed time.

Limitations of the Formula

This simple formula gives an average pace and speed, but it does not account for terrain, wind, or elevation gain. Two runs with the same average pace can feel very different. For a more accurate training load, consider using heart rate or power data. Also, the formula assumes a constant speed; in reality, most runs are not perfectly even. The average is still useful for planning and comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the first rune?

The first rune is on the Ancient Isle beach, near the water’s edge on the left side of the main dock. Look for a glowing blue symbol on a rock. Walk up to it and press the interact key (E on PC, X on mobile, Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox).

Where is the second rune?

The second rune is inside the cave on the northeast part of the island. Enter the cave and follow the path until you see a small pool of water; the rune is on the wall above the pool. You may need to jump onto a ledge to reach it.

Where is the third rune?

The third rune is on the top of the mountain, near the ancient statue. Climb the winding path from the east side; the rune is on the base of the statue, facing the sea. It is the hardest to reach, so bring a glider or climbing gear.

Do I need to find the runes in a specific order?

No, you can activate them in any order. Once all three are activated, a message appears and the temple gate opens. If you leave the game, the runes reset, and you must activate them again.

What is inside the Forgotten Temple?

Inside, you’ll find a rare fish spawn area, some treasure chests, and a relic that can be sold for a high price. The temple is also a good spot for catching rare fish for the bestiary.

Can I open the gate with friends?

Yes, if you are in a co-op session, any player can activate a rune, and the progress is shared. However, each player must be present to interact with the runes; you cannot activate them remotely.
