This guide ranks every fighting style in Haze Seas, the Roblox game inspired by Blox Fruits, from S-tier (best for both PvP and grinding) down to D-tier (situational or outclassed). You enter a fighting style by selecting it from your inventory or a vendor, and you use it as your primary melee moveset alongside your weapon and Blox Fruit. The tier list below reflects the current meta for damage, combo potential, and ease of use.

Formula

The tier list itself doesn’t use a formula, but the calculator above works out your average pace and speed for grinding routes. The formulas are:

  • Average pace = Finish time (minutes) ÷ Distance (km)
  • Average speed = Distance (km) ÷ (Finish time ÷ 60)

Variables: t = total time in minutes, d = distance in kilometers. Pace is minutes per kilometer, speed is kilometers per hour.

Worked Example

Using the defaults: you grind for 50 minutes and cover 10 km.

  • Pace = 50 ÷ 10 = 5.00 min/km
  • Speed = 10 ÷ (50 ÷ 60) = 10 ÷ 0.8333 = 12.00 km/h

So your average pace is 5 minutes per kilometer and your average speed is 12 km/h.

What Are Fighting Styles in Haze Seas?

Fighting styles are melee movesets that determine your basic punches, kicks, and special abilities when you aren’t using a sword or gun. Each style has a unique combo, some have elemental effects, and a few grant passive buffs like faster movement or extra damage against certain enemies. You can equip one fighting style at a time, and switching is free, so the tier list helps you decide which to invest your Beli and stat points into.

Tier List – S to D

This ranking is based on current game balance, community consensus, and how well each style performs in both PvP and NPC grinding. The meta changes with updates, so check for recent patch notes if a style feels different.

  • S-Tier: Dragon Breath – high damage, long-range fire blasts, easy combo starter. Best for both PvP and grinding.
  • A-Tier: Water Kung Fu – fast, good knockback, works well in combos. Slightly less raw damage than Dragon Breath.
  • B-Tier: Dark Step – solid damage and a teleport move, but slower startup. Good for skilled players.
  • C-Tier: Electric – very fast but low damage per hit. Useful for hit-and-run, not for sustained fights.
  • D-Tier: Combat – the starter style. Outclassed by everything else, only useful for the first few levels.

How to Choose a Fighting Style

Your choice depends on your playstyle and what you’re doing. For grinding NPCs, you want high AoE damage and low cooldowns. For PvP, you want combo potential and stun or knockback. Consider these factors:

  • Grinding: Pick S or A tier – they clear crowds fastest.
  • PvP: A-tier styles often have better combo potential than pure damage.
  • Budget: Some styles cost Beli or require quests. Dark Step is cheap, Dragon Breath is expensive.
  • Stat spread: Fighting styles scale with your melee stat. If you’re a Blox Fruit main, you may not want to invest heavily in melee.

Common Problems and Misconceptions

Many players think the highest damage tier always wins, but that’s not true. A fast style with good stun can outplay a slow heavy hitter. Another common mistake is ignoring the elemental effect – some styles deal fire or water damage, which matters against enemies with resistances. Also, don’t assume the starter style is fine forever; it falls off hard after level 100.

Comparisons and Alternatives

Dragon Breath vs. Water Kung Fu is the classic comparison. Dragon Breath has more damage and range, but Water Kung Fu is faster and has better combo potential. If you can’t afford Dragon Breath, Water Kung Fu is the best alternative. Dark Step is a budget option that still works in PvP if you master its teleport. Electric is a niche pick for speedrunners.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best fighting style in Haze Seas?

Dragon Breath is widely considered the best overall due to its high damage, range, and ease of use. It works for both PvP and grinding, making it the top pick.

How do I get Dragon Breath?

You can buy Dragon Breath from the fighting style vendor for a large amount of Beli, usually around 150,000. It’s also sometimes obtainable from a quest, but the vendor is the most reliable source.

Can I switch fighting styles anytime?

Yes, switching is free and instant. You can equip any style you own from your inventory. However, you can only have one active at a time.

Does fighting style damage scale with my level?

Fighting style damage scales primarily with your melee stat, not your overall level. If you put points into melee, your fighting style hits harder.

Is Electric worth using?

Electric is only worth it if you value speed over damage. It’s great for dodging and hit-and-run tactics, but it lacks the punch needed for serious PvP or high-level grinding.

What is the best fighting style for beginners?

Water Kung Fu is the best beginner pick because it’s cheap, has straightforward moves, and deals decent damage. It teaches you combo basics without the complexity of Dragon Breath.
