Haze Seas Fruit Awakening Requirements & Unlock

Card No. 06·23934 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

In Haze Seas, the Fruit Awakening system lets you permanently upgrade a Devil Fruit’s moveset and stats, and to unlock it you must be at least Level 1000, own a fully mastered fruit, and use a specific awakening item. This article explains the exact requirements, how to get the awakening item, and what changes after you awaken your fruit.

What Is Fruit Awakening in Haze Seas?

Fruit Awakening is an endgame progression feature that enhances a Devil Fruit’s power. Once awakened, your fruit gains:

  • Increased damage on all abilities (roughly 30-50% depending on the fruit).
  • New or modified moves (some fruits get a completely new skill).
  • Visual changes to your character and attacks.
  • Passive stat boosts (e.g., more health or energy).

Awakening does not reset your fruit’s mastery or level—it’s a permanent upgrade that stays even if you switch fruits (though you’ll need to awaken the new fruit separately).

Exact Requirements to Awaken a Fruit

To unlock the awakening menu, you must meet all of these conditions:

  1. Reach Level 1000+ – This is the hard level requirement. You cannot awaken before Level 1000, even if you have the item.
  2. Max out your fruit’s mastery – Your current fruit must be at 100% mastery. You can check this in the fruit menu (press M).
  3. Obtain a Fruit Awakening Stone – This is the key item. You need exactly one per fruit.
  4. Have at least 5,000,000 Beli – The awakening process costs 5 million in-game currency.

If you meet all four, talk to the Awakening Master NPC located on the second floor of the Marine Base building (the one with the large dome). He’ll ask for the stone and the Beli, and then you’ll see a brief cutscene before your fruit awakens.

How to Get a Fruit Awakening Stone

Fruit Awakening Stones are a rare drop. You can obtain them from:

  • Raid Bosses – The most reliable method. Defeat the Sea King or Dark Admiral raid bosses. Drop chance is roughly 5-10% per kill.
  • Random Event Chests – Occasionally, a golden chest will spawn on a random island. It has a 2% chance to contain a stone.
  • Trade with other players – You can trade for stones, but expect to pay a high price (usually 1-2 million Beli or a good fruit).

There is no guaranteed way to get one, so you may need to farm raid bosses for several hours. Using a 2x Drop Boost (purchasable from the shop) can help.

Step-by-Step Awakening Process

Once you have all the requirements, follow these steps:

  1. Equip the fruit you want to awaken (it must be in your active slot).
  2. Travel to the Marine Base island (the one with the big dome).
  3. Go to the second floor and find the Awakening Master NPC (he’s wearing a purple robe).
  4. Press E to talk to him. He’ll show a menu with your current fruit.
  5. Click the “Awaken” button. The game will ask for confirmation.
  6. Confirm and wait for the 10-second animation. After it finishes, you’ll see a message: “Your fruit has awakened!”

That’s it. Your fruit is now awakened permanently. You can check the new moves in your skill tree—they’ll have a purple border.

Common Mistakes and Troubleshooting

Many players get stuck at the awakening NPC. Here are the most common issues:

  • Not Level 1000 – The NPC won’t even show the awakening option if you’re below Level 1000. Check your level in the top-left corner.
  • Mastery not maxed – Even at 99% mastery, the option is greyed out. Make sure it says 100%.
  • Not enough Beli – The game deducts 5,000,000 Beli at the moment of confirmation. If you have exactly 5M, it works, but if you spend any before confirming, it fails.
  • Stone in storage – The stone must be in your inventory, not in the warehouse. Move it to your bag first.
  • Wrong NPC – There are two NPCs on that floor: the Awakening Master and the Ability Resetter. Make sure you’re talking to the one with the purple robe.

If you’ve met all requirements and it still doesn’t work, relog and try again. Sometimes the game doesn’t register the level correctly.

What Changes After Awakening?

After awakening, your fruit’s moves get a significant boost. Here’s what to expect:

  • Damage – All damaging moves get a 40% damage increase (this is multiplicative, so a move that dealt 1000 now deals 1400).
  • Cooldowns – Most moves get a 15% cooldown reduction.
  • New moves – Some fruits (like the Phoenix or Dragon) get an entirely new ultimate move. You’ll see it in your skill tree as a new skill.
  • Passive buff – You get +500 health and +200 energy permanently (only while the awakened fruit is equipped).

Your fruit’s name will also change to include “Awakened” (e.g., “Awakened Magma”). This is purely cosmetic but helps other players know you’re awakened.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I awaken a fruit I don’t have equipped?

No, you must have the fruit equipped in your active slot. If you have two fruits, only the one you’re currently using can be awakened.

Does awakening work on all fruits?

Yes, every fruit can be awakened. However, some fruits (like the common Chop fruit) have less impressive upgrades than legendary ones. The cost and requirements are the same for all.

Can I un-awaken a fruit?

No, awakening is permanent. There is no way to revert it. If you want a different fruit, you’ll need to eat a new one and awaken it separately.

Is the Fruit Awakening Stone consumed?

Yes, the stone is consumed in the process. You’ll need to get another one for each fruit you want to awaken.

What’s the fastest way to get the stone?

Farming the Sea King raid boss is the fastest. It spawns every 15 minutes at the Sea King’s Cove. Use a drop boost and join a farming group to kill it quickly. You’ll likely get a stone within a few hours.

Do I need to be at max mastery for the fruit I’m awakening?

Yes, the fruit must be at 100% mastery. If you’re not maxed, the awakening option won’t appear. You can check mastery by pressing M and looking at the fruit’s progress bar.
