Witch Event Guide: Climb for Animal Eggs

Card No. 06·20429 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

This guide explains how to find and complete the Witch event in Climb for Animal Eggs. You’ll learn the event’s location, the exact steps to trigger and finish it, and how to claim the exclusive Witch-themed rewards. No special items are required to start, but you’ll need to have unlocked the Mountain area.

What You’ll Need

  • Access to the Mountain area (unlocked after completing the Forest and Desert regions).
  • At least 500 coins to purchase the Cauldron Key from the event shop.
  • 20 minutes of free time, as the event has a 15-minute time limit once started.

Step-by-Step

  1. Locate the Witch’s Hut: In the Mountain area, climb to the third checkpoint (the one with the frozen waterfall). Instead of continuing up the main path, look to your left for a small wooden hut with a crooked chimney and purple smoke. This is the Witch’s Hut.
  2. Talk to the Witch: Approach the hut and tap the Witch standing by the door. She will explain the event: you must collect 10 enchanted frog eggs scattered across the Mountain and bring them back to her cauldron before the timer runs out.
  3. Buy the Cauldron Key (if needed): The Witch will ask for a Cauldron Key to activate the event. If you don’t have one, tap the shop icon (the small bag at the top-right of the screen) and purchase it for 500 coins. You only need to buy it once; it’s reusable for future attempts.
  4. Start the Event: After buying the key, tap the cauldron next to the Witch. A 15-minute timer will start, and the first egg will appear directly in front of you, glowing purple.
  5. Collect the First Egg: Climb to the first egg and tap it to collect it. A counter at the top of the screen will show 1/10. Each egg you collect adds 30 seconds to your timer, so you effectively have more time as you progress.
  6. Follow the Purple Trail: After collecting an egg, a faint purple trail will appear leading to the next one. Follow it. The trail can go up, down, or sideways, so keep an eye on it. If you lose the trail, open your map (the compass icon) – the next egg will be marked with a purple dot.
  7. Collect All 10 Eggs: Continue climbing and collecting. The eggs are placed in a fixed pattern each time: 3 near the lower ledges, 4 in the mid-cliff area, and 3 near the summit. The last egg is always inside a small ice cave just below the summit flag.
  8. Return to the Cauldron: Once you have all 10 eggs, the trail will point back down to the Witch’s Hut. You don’t need to climb back down the same way – you can use the zipline at the summit (if unlocked) or jump down carefully. The timer pauses once you have all eggs, so there’s no rush.
  9. Drop the Eggs In: Reach the cauldron and tap it. The Witch will perform a short animation (about 5 seconds) and then reward you with the Witch’s Brew (a cosmetic hat) and 200 event tokens.
  10. Claim Your Rewards: After the animation, a reward screen appears. Tap “Claim” to add the Witch’s Brew to your inventory. The event tokens are automatically added to your token counter.

Common Mistakes

  • Starting without the key: Many players tap the cauldron without buying the key, which wastes time. Always buy the key first.
  • Ignoring the trail: The purple trail is the fastest way to find eggs. Trying to search randomly will often cause you to run out of time.
  • Climbing too high: The last egg is below the summit, not at it. If you reach the summit flag, you’ve gone too far – turn around and look for the ice cave.
  • Falling too much: Each fall costs 3-5 seconds. Use the safety nets (the yellow trampolines) whenever possible, especially on the mid-cliff section.
  • Not using the map: If you’re lost, the map is your best friend. The purple dot is always accurate.

Tips

  • Do it early in the day: The event area is less crowded in the morning, which means less lag and fewer other players blocking your path.
  • Upgrade your climbing shoes: If you have the coins, upgrade your shoes to level 3 before attempting the event. This increases your grip, making the mid-cliff section much easier.
  • Memorize the egg locations: The positions are fixed. After your first attempt, you’ll know where to go. The second attempt usually takes half the time.
  • Use the zipline at the summit: If you’ve unlocked the summit zipline, it can take you most of the way back down to the Witch’s Hut, saving you a lot of climbing time.
  • Pause the game if needed: If you need a break, tap the pause button (the gear icon). The timer pauses too. This is great for checking the map or taking a breather.

Troubleshooting

  • The Witch won’t talk to me: Make sure you’ve completed the “Frozen Peak” main quest (the one that unlocks the zipline). If you haven’t, the Witch will just wave and not start the dialogue.
  • I bought the key but the cauldron is still locked: The key is in your inventory. Tap the cauldron, then tap the “Use Key” button that appears. If it doesn’t appear, close the game and reopen it – this often fixes the issue.
  • The timer ran out: The event is over for this attempt. You can restart it immediately by tapping the cauldron again, but you’ll need to pay 200 coins if you didn’t collect at least 5 eggs. If you collected 5 or more, the restart is free.
  • An egg is glitched into a wall: This is a known bug on the mid-cliff egg (number 6). If it happens, climb away and come back – it usually pops out of the wall. If not, restart the event; you’ll lose your progress but the egg will be in the correct spot.
  • The purple trail disappeared: This can happen if you go too far off course. Open your map and look for the purple dot. If there’s no dot, you may have accidentally collected the last egg – check your counter.
  • I completed the event but didn’t get the hat: Check your inventory under “Hats.” If it’s not there, force-close and reopen the game. If it still isn’t there, contact support through the settings menu with a screenshot of your reward screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replay the Witch event? Yes, you can replay it as many times as you want. Each completion gives you 200 event tokens, which can be spent in the event shop on exclusive items like the Broomstick Skin and the Cauldron Backpack.

Do I need to be a certain level? No, but you need to have unlocked the Mountain area. There’s no level requirement beyond that.

What happens if I fall off the mountain during the event? You’ll respawn at the last checkpoint you touched. The timer keeps running, so try to avoid falls. The Witch’s Hut counts as a checkpoint, so if you fall early, you’ll respawn near the start.

Can I do this event with friends? The event is single-player only. Friends can watch you but cannot help collect eggs.

Is the Witch’s Brew hat permanent? Yes, it’s a permanent cosmetic item. It doesn’t give any stat boosts, but it’s a nice flex for other players.

What are event tokens used for? They’re used in the event shop, which appears next to the Witch’s Hut. You can buy the Broomstick Skin (500 tokens), the Cauldron Backpack (800 tokens), and a special emote (300 tokens). The shop stays open for 7 days after you first complete the event.
