This guide shows you how to hide your account level in Valorant, so other players can’t see your level or progress bar in lobbies, agent select, and during matches. You’ll need access to your Valorant account settings—no third-party tools are required. The option is built into the game client.
What You’ll Need
- A Valorant account (obviously)
- The Valorant game client (PC) or the mobile companion app (Valorant Mobile is not yet available; the setting is in the PC client)
- An active internet connection
Step-by-Step
- Launch Valorant on your PC. Wait for the game to fully load to the main menu.
- Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner of the main screen. It’s next to your player card and level badge.
- In the Settings menu, click the General tab (the default).
- Scroll down to the Privacy section. It’s usually near the bottom of the General tab.
- Look for the option labeled “Show Account Level” or “Display Account Level”. The exact wording may vary slightly with game updates.
- Click the dropdown next to it and select “Off” or “Hidden”. (If it’s a toggle, switch it to the off position.)
- Click the X or Back button to close Settings. The change saves automatically.
- Verify it worked: check your profile or a friend’s view of your account. Your level badge will no longer appear next to your name in the lobby or agent select.
Common Mistakes
- Looking in the wrong menu: The setting is in the General tab, not in “Account” or “Privacy” under a separate submenu. Some players miss it because they don’t scroll down far enough.
- Expecting it to hide your level from everyone: The setting hides your level from other players. Riot Games support and your own client still see it. Also, your level may still appear in certain places like the match history or the “Career” tab for you personally—that’s normal.
- Forgetting to save: While the game usually auto-saves, some players click “Cancel” or “Reset” by accident. Double-check that the dropdown shows “Off” before closing.
- Confusing account level with battle pass level: This setting only hides your account level (the number that goes up as you play). It does not hide your battle pass tier or your ranked rank.
Tips
- Hide it before a match: If you want to avoid being judged by your level, set it to “Off” before you queue. It applies immediately, so you can do it anytime.
- Consider hiding your level if you’re a smurf or a new player: Some players use level as a proxy for skill, so hiding it can reduce toxicity or expectations.
- Check after updates: Riot occasionally resets settings or moves options. After a major patch, quickly verify your privacy setting is still as you left it.
- Use it with other privacy options: You can also hide your match history and career stats in the same Privacy section if you want more anonymity.
Troubleshooting
The option isn’t there: If you don’t see “Show Account Level,” make sure your game is fully updated. If it’s still missing, try restarting the client. In rare cases, the setting may be temporarily disabled by Riot during a bugfix—wait for a patch.
It doesn’t stick: If you set it to “Off” but it reverts, try changing it to “On” and then back to “Off.” Sometimes the UI glitches. If that fails, restart the game and try again.
Other players still see your level: Remember that the setting only hides your level from other players in the lobby and in-game. It does not hide it from your own client or from Riot’s servers. Also, if you’re in a party, your party members may still see it—this is a known limitation.
Can’t find the Settings gear: If the gear icon is missing, press Esc in the main menu to open the settings overlay, then click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner of that overlay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will hiding my account level affect my matchmaking?
No. The setting only changes what other players see. Your matchmaking rating (MMR) and ranked matchmaking are completely unaffected.
Can other players still see my level in the post-game lobby?
No. Once you hide your level, it’s hidden in all player-facing areas: pre-game lobby, agent select, in-game scoreboard, and post-game screen. Your own client still shows it to you.
Does hiding my level hide my rank too?
No. Your rank (Iron, Bronze, etc.) is always visible in ranked modes. The setting only hides the account level number.
Will this hide my level from my friends in a party?
In most cases, no. Party members can still see your level in the party lobby and in-game. This is a known limitation—the setting primarily affects non-party players.
Can I hide my level on the Valorant mobile app?
As of now, Valorant Mobile is not available, and the setting is only in the PC client. Once mobile launches, it may or may not have the same option.
Is there a way to hide my level from Riot support?
No. Riot support and the game’s backend always have access to your account data. The privacy setting is only for other players.
