Synth Riders Scores on Steam Frame: How-To

Card No. 06·14636 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

This guide shows you how to make your Synth Riders scores appear on your Steam profile’s game frame. You’ll need a Steam account with Synth Riders in your library, and the game must have been played at least once so that Steam records your stats. By the end, your frame will display your Synth Riders playtime, achievements, and possibly your rank.

What You’ll Need

  • A Steam account with Synth Riders owned and installed.
  • The Steam desktop client (the web browser version does not support frame customization).
  • At least one play session of Synth Riders so that Steam registers your game activity.
  • Your Steam profile set to public (or at least “Friends Only” if you only want friends to see it).

Step-by-Step

  1. Launch Steam and log in to your account using the desktop client.
  2. Open your profile by clicking your avatar in the top-right corner of the Steam window, then selecting “Profile” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click “Edit Profile” – this button is located on the right side of your profile page, near the top.
  4. Select the “Featured” tab in the Edit Profile menu. This is where you manage your showcase and game frame.
  5. Scroll to the “Game Frame” section – it’s usually below the Featured Showcase and above the Achievements Showcase.
  6. Click the dropdown menu that currently shows “None” or another game. A list of your recently played games will appear.
  7. Select “Synth Riders” from the list. If you don’t see it, make sure you’ve played the game at least once and that your playtime is visible on your profile.
  8. Click “Save” at the bottom of the Edit Profile page. Your profile will refresh, and the frame around your avatar and level will now display Synth Riders stats.

Common Mistakes

  • Not having played the game yet – Steam only shows games with recorded playtime in the frame dropdown. Play Synth Riders for at least a few minutes, then wait a bit for Steam to update.
  • Profile privacy set to private – If your profile is private, the frame won’t be visible to others, and the game might not appear in the dropdown. Set your profile to public or friends-only.
  • Using the Steam website instead of the client – The web browser version of Steam doesn’t allow editing the game frame. Use the desktop application.
  • Selecting the wrong game – If you have many games, it’s easy to pick a similar one. Double-check that the dropdown shows “Synth Riders” before saving.
  • Not saving after selecting – Forgetting to click “Save” will revert your changes when you leave the edit page.

Tips

  • Play a few songs first – The frame will show your total playtime and achievement progress. Playing a few songs ensures the numbers look decent and that achievements are recorded.
  • Set your profile to public – Even if you only want friends to see it, make sure your profile isn’t private, or the frame will be hidden entirely.
  • Refresh your profile after saving – Sometimes Steam caches the old frame. Press F5 or reload the page to see the update.
  • Check your Steam friends’ profiles – If you’re unsure how the frame looks, look at a friend’s profile that has a game frame set. It’s a small rectangle around your avatar and level.
  • Change it back anytime – You can switch to a different game or back to “None” at any time by repeating the steps.

Troubleshooting

Synth Riders doesn’t appear in the dropdown list.
First, launch the game and play a song for a few minutes. Then exit and wait about 15 minutes for Steam to sync your playtime. If it still doesn’t show, restart the Steam client. If the game is brand new, it may take up to a day for Steam to index it.

The frame shows but is blank or says “No data”.
This usually means your profile privacy is too strict. Go to Profile > Edit Profile > Privacy Settings and set “My Profile” and “Game Details” to Public or Friends Only. Then wait a few minutes and refresh.

I saved but nothing changed.
Try clearing your Steam web cache: Steam > Settings > Web Browser > Delete Web Browser Cache. Then restart Steam and redo the steps. Alternatively, try a different browser if you’re viewing your profile on the web.

My friends can’t see the frame.
They might have their own privacy settings that hide others’ game details. Ask them to check their Steam privacy settings. Also, ensure your profile is not set to “Private” – “Friends Only” works for friends, but “Public” is best.

The frame shows a different game.
You may have accidentally selected another game in the dropdown. Go back to Edit Profile > Featured > Game Frame and confirm Synth Riders is selected. If it is, try selecting “None”, saving, then selecting Synth Riders again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to own Synth Riders or can I use a free weekend?
A: You need the game in your library, but a free weekend play session will also register playtime and allow you to set the frame, as long as the game is installed and played.

Q: Will the frame show my high scores or just playtime?
A: The Steam game frame shows your total playtime, achievements earned, and possibly your global rank if the game supports it. It does not show individual song scores.

Q: Can I set the frame to Synth Riders if I haven’t launched it yet?
A: No, Steam only lists games with at least a few minutes of recorded playtime. Launch the game once, play a song, then exit.

Q: Does the frame update automatically?
A: Yes, the frame updates automatically as you play more and earn achievements, but there can be a delay of up to an hour.

Q: Can I customize the frame’s appearance?
A: No, the frame’s design is fixed by Steam. You can only choose which game’s stats it displays.

Q: What if I want to remove the frame later?
A: Follow the same steps and select “None” in the dropdown, then save. The frame will disappear.
