Unlock All Three Moonlight Peaks Forms

Card No. 06·50798 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

This guide walks you through unlocking all three Moonlight Peaks forms in the game. You will learn the exact requirements, the order to complete them, and how to avoid common pitfalls. By the end, you will have access to all three transformations and their unique benefits.

What You’ll Need

  • A character at level 30 or higher (the questline unlocks at this level).
  • Access to the Moonlit Hollow region (unlocked after the main story quest “The Pale Trail”).
  • At least 5,000 gold to purchase the required Moonpetal Dust from the herbalist.
  • Patience: the entire process takes about 2–3 hours of gameplay, including a real-time waiting period.

Step-by-Step

  1. Reach Level 30 and Complete “The Pale Trail”. This main story quest is mandatory. If you have not done it, progress through the main storyline until it appears in your journal. It ends with you gaining access to the Moonlit Hollow region.
  2. Travel to Moonlit Hollow. Use the world map to fast-travel to the Moonlit Hollow waypoint. If you have not discovered it yet, walk there from the eastern edge of the Whispering Woods.
  3. Find the Moon Altar. The altar is located at the center of the hollow, marked by a glowing crescent moon on your minimap. Interact with it to start the quest “Three Faces of the Moon”.
  4. Speak to the Moon Priestess. She appears next to the altar after you activate the quest. She will give you three tasks, each corresponding to one form. You can do them in any order, but the game recommends starting with the Wolf Form.
  5. Unlock the Wolf Form (First Task). The priestess asks you to collect 10 Moonlit Fangs from the Silver Wolves that roam the northern part of the hollow. Kill wolves until you have 10 fangs. They drop about 50% of the time, so expect to kill around 20 wolves. Return to the priestess to receive the Wolf Form.
  6. Unlock the Bear Form (Second Task). The priestess now wants 5 Ancient Bear Claws. These drop from the Cave Bears in the eastern caves. The drop rate is 100%, so you just need to kill 5 bears. The caves are marked on your map as “Ursa’s Den”. Return to the priestess to get the Bear Form.
  7. Unlock the Eagle Form (Third Task). The final task requires 3 Moonlight Feathers. These are not dropped by enemies; instead, you must collect them from the three nests located on the tall cliffs in the southern area. Use your climbing ability to reach each nest. The nests are at the marked locations on your map. Return to the priestess to get the Eagle Form.
  8. Complete the Ritual. After obtaining all three forms, the priestess asks you to perform a ritual at the altar at night (in-game time between 9 PM and 3 AM). Wait until night, then interact with the altar again. A short cutscene plays, and you officially unlock all three forms permanently.
  9. Equip and Use the Forms. Open your character menu (default key: C) and go to the “Transformations” tab. You will see all three forms listed. Drag them to your quick-access bar to switch between them instantly during gameplay.

Common Mistakes

  • Killing the wrong enemies. Silver Wolves only spawn in the northern part of the hollow, not in the eastern caves. If you are not getting fangs, check your location.
  • Collecting feathers during the day. The nests are only interactable at night. If you try during the day, you will see a message saying “The nest is empty.” Wait until nightfall.
  • Skipping the ritual. Some players think that collecting all three forms is enough. The ritual is mandatory to permanently unlock them. If you do not do it, you will lose the forms on death.
  • Not having enough gold. The Moonpetal Dust costs 5,000 gold. If you spend all your gold before starting, you cannot buy it, and the priestess will not give you the tasks. Save up before you start.

Tips

  • Use a high-damage build. The Silver Wolves and Cave Bears are level 32–35. If you are undergeared, bring potions or a friend to help.
  • Set your game time to night. You can wait at a campfire to pass time quickly. This is useful for both the feather collection and the ritual.
  • Mark the nests on your map. Use custom waypoints to avoid getting lost in the southern cliffs.
  • Keep the forms in your quick bar. Each form has a cooldown of 30 seconds after switching back. Plan your transformations during combat to avoid being stuck in a form when you need to heal.

Troubleshooting

  • The quest “Three Faces of the Moon” is not appearing. Ensure you have completed “The Pale Trail” and are level 30. If it still does not appear, restart your game and check your journal for any pending objectives.
  • I killed 30 wolves and only got 3 fangs. The drop rate is random. Keep killing; it will eventually drop. If you are in the right area, you should see the wolves’ name in red when you hover over them.
  • The nests are not glowing. Make sure it is night in-game. If it is, but the nest still does not glow, try reloading the area by fast-traveling away and back.
  • The ritual does not work. Double-check the time. It must be between 9 PM and 3 AM. Also, ensure you have all three forms in your inventory (check the Transformation tab). If all else fails, log out and log back in.
  • I lost a form after dying. This means you did not complete the ritual. Go back to the altar and do it now. The forms are temporary until the ritual is done.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I unlock the forms in any order? Yes, the tasks can be done in any order. However, the game recommends Wolf first because it is the easiest to obtain.
  • Do I need to be a specific class? No, any class can unlock and use all three forms. The forms are separate from your class abilities.
  • Can I use the forms outside of Moonlit Hollow? Yes, once unlocked, you can use them anywhere in the world. The forms last for 60 seconds each, with a 30-second cooldown between switches.
  • Are the forms purely cosmetic? No, each form gives a unique buff: Wolf increases movement speed by 20%, Bear increases damage resistance by 15%, and Eagle allows gliding for 5 seconds.
  • Can I unlock the forms on a new character? Yes, the quest is repeatable on any character. You will need to reach level 30 again and complete the prerequisite quest.
  • What happens if I sell the Moonpetal Dust? You cannot sell it; it is a quest item and cannot be removed from your inventory. If you somehow drop it, the priestess will sell you another for the same price.
