The Outpost Infra Station quest in Arknights: Endfield is a main story mission that tasks you with restoring power to an abandoned outpost by repairing its infrastructure. You must locate three damaged Power Nodes, restore them using the Build menu, and then activate the station’s main console to clear the area and progress the story.
Formula
The calculator works out your average pace and speed from two numbers you enter: the time it took you to finish a run or ride, and the distance you covered. The formula for pace is:
Pace = Total Time (minutes) ÷ Distance (kilometers)
And the formula for speed is:
Speed = Distance (km) ÷ (Total Time (min) ÷ 60)
Variables:
- t – total time in minutes (e.g., 50 minutes).
- d – distance in kilometers (e.g., 10 km).
- pace – minutes per kilometer, shown as a decimal (e.g., 5.00 min/km).
- speed – kilometers per hour (e.g., 12.00 km/h).
Worked Example
Using the default values from the calculator (t = 50 minutes, d = 10 km):
- Pace = 50 ÷ 10 = 5.00 min/km
- Speed = 10 ÷ (50 ÷ 60) = 10 ÷ 0.8333 = 12.00 km/h
So with a 50-minute finish over 10 km, your average pace is 5 minutes per kilometer and your average speed is 12 km/h.
When to Use This Calculator
Use this tool whenever you want to know your average pace for a run, walk, or bike ride. It is especially handy for training plans that specify target paces (e.g., “run at 5:30 min/km”) or for comparing your speed across different distances. You can enter any time and distance, as long as the time is in minutes and the distance is in kilometers. If you train in miles, convert miles to kilometers first (1 mile = 1.60934 km) or use the speed output to get a sense of your effort.
How to Read the Results
The first output, pace, is the most common metric for runners. A lower pace number means you are faster (fewer minutes per kilometer). The second output, speed, is more familiar to cyclists or drivers. For example, a pace of 5 min/km equals 12 km/h. If you prefer minutes per mile, multiply the pace by 1.60934 (e.g., 5 min/km × 1.60934 = 8.05 min/mile).
Common Mistakes
- Mixing units: If you enter distance in miles but time in minutes, the pace will be wrong. Always convert to kilometers or use a separate miles-based calculator.
- Using seconds: The calculator expects minutes. If you have a time like 50:30 (50 minutes, 30 seconds), convert the seconds to decimal minutes (30 ÷ 60 = 0.5) and enter 50.5.
- Rounding too early: Keep at least two decimal places in intermediate steps to avoid a wrong final answer.
Limitations of the Formula
This is a simple average calculation. It does not account for elevation gain, terrain, stops, or wind. Your actual effort may vary, but the average pace is still a useful baseline. The calculator also assumes you enter a positive time and distance; if you enter zero or negative values, it will show an error or “Cannot compute” because the formula is undefined.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this for walking?
Yes, the same formula works for walking. A typical walking pace is around 12 min/km (5 km/h). Just enter your total time and distance.
What if I run on a treadmill?
Treadmill runs usually show speed in km/h or mph. You can convert speed to pace by dividing 60 by the speed. For example, 10 km/h = 60 ÷ 10 = 6 min/km.
How do I convert pace to speed?
Speed = 60 ÷ pace (in minutes per km). For instance, 5 min/km → 60 ÷ 5 = 12 km/h.
Why does the calculator show “Cannot compute”?
This happens when you enter a negative time or distance, or a distance of zero. The formula cannot divide by zero or a negative number.
Is this the same as a “min/km” pace on my watch?
Yes, most running watches show pace as minutes per kilometer. This calculator gives the same number.
