This guide answers where to find all collectibles in Chapter 4 of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, titled “From Hell It Rose.” There are 5 collectibles in this chapter: 3 Souvenirs, 1 Flower, and 1 Oddity. Below you’ll find the exact locations in the order you can reach them, plus tips for getting them without missing any.
Formula
This calculator works out your collectible completion percentage for Chapter 4. You enter how many collectibles you’ve found so far (from 0 to 5). The formula is:
Completion % = (Collectibles found ÷ 5) × 100
Where:
- Collectibles found = the number of Souvenirs, Flowers, or Oddities you’ve picked up in this chapter (0–5)
- 5 = the total number of collectibles in Chapter 4
Worked Example
Using the default values from the calculator (you’ve found 3 out of 5):
- Divide 3 by 5: 3 ÷ 5 = 0.6
- Multiply by 100: 0.6 × 100 = 60%
- So you have 60% completion, with 2 collectibles still missing.
Chapter 4 Overview: “From Hell It Rose”
Chapter 4 takes place in a burning village and the underground tunnels beneath it. The chapter is linear but has a few branching paths that loop back, which is where players typically miss collectibles. The chapter is roughly 25–35 minutes long on a first playthrough. Unlike some chapters, none of the collectibles are permanently missable after a cutscene — but you must grab them before you leave the area where they appear, because you can’t return later.
Collectible #1: Souvenir – Broken Locket
Location: After the opening scene, you enter a burning street. Walk forward past the first two burning houses. On the left side, near a dead soldier, there is a small alley. The locket is on the ground beside a wooden cart, glowing slightly.
- Look for the cart with a broken wheel.
- The locket is partially hidden behind a barrel.
- If you reach the church door, you’ve gone too far — turn back.
Collectible #2: Flower – Blue Thistle
Location: In the underground tunnel section, after you drop down through the well. Follow the tunnel until you reach a fork. Take the left path (not the one that leads to the rat nest). The flower is on a small ledge above a puddle of water. It’s easy to miss because the camera angle points you right.
- The flower is on a rocky outcrop, about head height.
- You need to climb a small pile of rubble to reach it.
- If you see the rat nest, you’ve passed it — backtrack about 20 meters.
Collectible #3: Souvenir – Tarnished Ring
Location: After you emerge from the tunnels into a courtyard with a broken fountain. The ring is inside the fountain basin, under a thin layer of ash. You can pick it up by pressing the interact button while standing at the edge.
- The fountain is directly ahead when you exit the tunnel.
- The ring is not visible from a distance — walk up to the basin and look down.
- If you see a cutscene trigger (a glowing door), you’ve missed it — reload the checkpoint.
Collectible #4: Oddity – Strange Idol
Location: In the final area of the chapter, inside a collapsed church. After you solve the puzzle with the hanging bell, climb the wooden scaffolding to the upper level. The idol is on a small altar behind a broken pew.
- You must climb to the topmost platform — not the one with the bell mechanism.
- The idol is small and dark, so use the “interact” prompt to find it.
- If you reach the exit door, you’ve missed it — reload the last checkpoint.
Collectible #5: Souvenir – Charred Letter
Location: Just before the chapter’s ending cutscene, in the room where you find the wounded soldier. The letter is on a table to the right of the soldier, partially burned. You must pick it up before you approach the soldier to trigger the cutscene.
- Approach the table first, not the soldier.
- The letter is next to a candle.
- If the cutscene starts, you’ve missed it — reload the checkpoint.
Common Mistakes and Tips
Players often miss the Blue Thistle because they follow the main path and don’t explore the left fork. The Tarnished Ring is hidden in plain sight, but the ash makes it blend in. The Charred Letter is the most commonly missed because the cutscene triggers automatically when you get near the soldier.
- Use the “interact” prompt frequently — it shows a small hand icon when a collectible is near.
- If you’re playing on a console, turn up the brightness slightly to spot the idol in the dark church.
- Chapter select lets you replay the chapter, but you must collect all in one run for the trophy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many collectibles are in Chapter 4 of Resonance?
There are 5 collectibles: 3 Souvenirs, 1 Flower, and 1 Oddity. This is the same count as Chapters 2 and 3, but Chapter 5 has 6.
Can I go back to get missed collectibles in Chapter 4?
No, once you leave an area, you cannot return. You must collect them during the chapter. However, you can use Chapter Select after finishing the game to replay Chapter 4 and collect anything you missed.
Is the Charred Letter missable?
Yes, it’s the most missable collectible in the chapter. The cutscene that ends the chapter triggers when you approach the wounded soldier, so pick up the letter from the table first.
Do collectibles carry over to New Game Plus?
No, collectibles do not carry over. If you start New Game Plus, you’ll need to collect them again. However, the trophy unlocks as soon as you collect the final one, even if it’s on a new playthrough.
What do the collectibles unlock?
Collecting all 5 in Chapter 4 contributes to the “Curator” trophy, which requires all collectibles in the game. There are 45 total collectibles across all chapters.
Is there a collectible in the rat nest area?
No, the rat nest area has no collectibles. The Blue Thistle is on the left fork before the nest, so don’t go into the nest looking for it.
