Sailor Piece power traits are special buffs that drop from boss raids and certain event stages, and each character can unlock up to three of them. This article explains exactly how trait drops work, the approximate drop rates, and the full unlock process so you can farm efficiently.
Formula
The expected number of trait drops is simply the number of raids multiplied by the drop rate (as a decimal). The chance of getting at least one drop after a given number of raids is calculated using the complementary probability: 1 minus the probability of getting zero drops.
Where:
- t = number of raids cleared
- d = drop rate per raid (in %)
- Expected drops = t × (d / 100)
- Chance of at least one drop = 1 − (1 − d/100)t
Worked Example
Using the default values from the calculator: 50 raids with a 5% drop rate per raid.
- Expected drops = 50 × (5 / 100) = 50 × 0.05 = 2.5 traits
- Chance of at least one drop = 1 − (1 − 0.05)50 = 1 − (0.95)50 ≈ 1 − 0.0769 = 92.3%
So after 50 raids, you can expect about 2.5 trait drops, and you have a 92.3% chance of seeing at least one.
What Are Power Traits?
Power traits are permanent passive bonuses that can be equipped on any character. Each character has three trait slots, unlocked at specific levels. Traits come in different rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. The rarity determines the strength of the buff—for example, a Common “Attack Up might give +5% attack, while a Legendary one gives +20%.
Traits are obtained from raid bosses, event stages, and special summoning banners. They are not tied to a specific character; once you obtain a trait, you can equip it on any character that has an open slot.
How Trait Drops Work
When you defeat a raid boss, there is a chance that a trait will drop as a reward. The drop rate varies by raid difficulty and boss type. Higher-difficulty raids generally have better drop rates and a higher chance of dropping rarer traits.
The drop rate is independent per raid—each run has the same probability, so there is no “pity system that guarantees a drop after a certain number of runs. This means that even after 100 runs, the chance of a drop on the 101st run is exactly the same as the first.
However, some events feature a “guaranteed trait reward after a certain number of clears, usually as a milestone reward. Always check the event details to see if such a system is in place.
Unlock Process
To equip a trait, you must first unlock the trait slot on your character. The slots are unlocked at specific character levels:
- First slot: unlocked at level 10
- Second slot: unlocked at level 25
- Third slot: unlocked at level 50
Once a slot is unlocked, you can go to the character screen, select the slot, and choose a trait from your inventory. You can also remove a trait and replace it with another, but the removed trait is lost (unless you use a special item that preserves it).
Traits are account-bound, so you cannot trade them or sell them. You can, however, dismantle unwanted traits for materials used to upgrade other traits.
Drop Rates by Difficulty
While exact rates are not officially published, community data suggests the following approximate drop rates:
- Easy raid: ~2% drop rate, mostly Common
- Normal raid: ~5% drop rate, Common/Rare
- Hard raid: ~10% drop rate, Rare/Epic
- Expert raid: ~15% drop rate, Epic/Legendary
These are estimates based on player-reported data and may vary with game updates. Always check the in-game drop table for the specific raid you are running.
How to Choose Which Traits to Farm
Not all traits are equally useful. The best traits depend on your character’s role:
- Attackers: prioritize Attack Up, Critical Rate Up, Critical Damage Up
- Defenders: prioritize Defense Up, HP Up, Damage Reduction
- Support: prioritize Speed Up, Cooldown Reduction, Healing Received Up
Also consider the trait’s rarity. A Rare trait with a good effect might be better than a Legendary trait with a useless effect. Always read the trait description before equipping.
Common Mistakes and Misconceptions
One common mistake is assuming that higher-difficulty raids always drop better traits. While the drop rate is higher, the pool of possible traits is also larger, so you might not get the specific trait you want. Another misconception is that traits are character-specific—they are not, so you can farm on any character and share the traits across your roster.
Another mistake is ignoring the trait slot unlock levels. You might be farming traits for a character that hasn’t reached level 50 yet, so you cannot equip the third trait. Plan your farming accordingly.
Costs and Alternatives
Farming raids costs stamina (or energy), which regenerates over time or can be refilled with gems. There is no direct way to buy traits with real money—they must be obtained through gameplay. However, some events offer trait tickets as rewards, which give you a random trait.
If you are not getting the traits you want, consider:
- Running the highest difficulty you can clear efficiently
- Participating in events that offer guaranteed trait rewards
- Using trait tickets from battle pass or event shops
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get traits from story mode?
No, traits only drop from raid bosses and specific event stages. Story mode does not drop traits.
Do traits expire?
No, traits are permanent once obtained. They do not expire or degrade over time.
Can I equip the same trait on multiple characters?
Yes, you can equip the same trait on multiple characters, but you need to have multiple copies of that trait. Each trait is a single item.
What is the rarest trait?
Legendary traits are the rarest, with drop rates as low as 1% on expert raids. Some limited-time traits may be even rarer.
Is there a pity system for traits?
Most raids do not have a pity system, but some events offer guaranteed trait rewards after a certain number of clears. Check the event details.
Can I upgrade traits?
Yes, you can use duplicate traits or special materials to upgrade a trait’s level, increasing its effect. The max level is usually 5.
