This walkthrough explains how to start and complete the Second Wind quest in Where Winds Meet, a large open-world action RPG. You’ll learn the exact location to trigger it, the full step-by-step path through its objectives, and the rewards you can expect. The quest is available early in the game and is tied to the main story’s progression in the region around Bianjing.

Formula

The calculator above works out your average pace and speed for a given distance and time. The formula for pace is:

Pace (min/km) = Total Time (min) ÷ Distance (km)

And for speed:

Speed (km/h) = Distance (km) ÷ (Total Time (min) ÷ 60)

Where t is the total time in minutes, and d is the distance in kilometers. This is the standard way runners and hikers measure their performance. It also works for any activity where you cover a known distance in a known time.

Worked Example

Using the default values from the calculator: t = 30 minutes, d = 5 km.

Pace = 30 ÷ 5 = 6.00 min/km

Speed = 5 ÷ (30 ÷ 60) = 5 ÷ 0.5 = 10.00 km/h

So with these inputs, the calculator returns a pace of 6 minutes per kilometer and a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. That is a brisk walking or slow jogging pace.

When to Use This Calculator

Use this calculator any time you want to convert between total time and distance into pace or speed. Common scenarios include:

  • Training for a race where you need to hit a target pace.
  • Logging a run or hike and wanting to compare it to previous efforts.
  • Planning a route: if you know your usual pace, you can estimate how long a new distance will take.
  • Converting a treadmill reading (which gives speed) into a pace you can use outdoors.

The result is useful for runners, cyclists, walkers, and anyone tracking movement over ground.

How to Read the Result

The first output, Average Pace, is shown in minutes per kilometer. A lower number means faster. For example, 5:00 min/km is faster than 6:00 min/km. The second output, Average Speed, is in kilometers per hour; a higher number is faster. Both express the same performance—just in different units. If you are used to miles, note that 1 mile ≈ 1.609 km, so a pace of 6:00 min/km is about 9:39 per mile.

Common Mistakes

The most frequent error is mixing units. If you enter distance in miles but time in minutes, the pace will be in minutes per mile, not minutes per kilometer. The calculator assumes kilometers. Another mistake is entering time in hours instead of minutes—always convert to minutes first (1 hour = 60 minutes). Also, be careful with rounding: the calculator rounds to two decimal places, which is fine for most purposes, but if you are planning a race, you might want to keep more decimals for accuracy.

Limitations of the Formula

This formula gives an average over the whole distance. It does not account for changes in terrain, elevation gain, or stops. If you run a hilly route, your actual effort will be higher than the average pace suggests. The formula also assumes you are moving the entire time; if you stop for a break, the average pace includes that stop, making it slower than your moving pace. For very short distances, the average speed can be misleading because acceleration and deceleration matter more.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert pace to speed or vice versa?

Use the formulas above. To convert speed (km/h) to pace (min/km), divide 60 by the speed. For example, 10 km/h = 60 ÷ 10 = 6 min/km. To go the other way, divide 60 by the pace (in minutes). So 5 min/km = 60 ÷ 5 = 12 km/h.

What is a good running pace for a beginner?

It varies widely by age, fitness, and gender. A common conversational pace for a new runner might be 7:00 to 8:00 min/km (about 8.5 to 7.5 km/h). If you can hold a conversation while running, you are at a sustainable effort.

Why does my GPS watch show a different pace?

GPS watches often show instantaneous pace, which fluctuates with every step. They also use a rolling average over a few seconds. The calculator gives a true average over the entire distance, which is more stable and accurate for overall performance.

Can I use this for walking?

Yes. A typical walking pace is about 12 min/km (5 km/h) or slower. The same formula works for any activity where you cover distance over time.

What if I want the result in miles per hour?

Take the speed in km/h and divide by 1.609. Or take the pace in min/km and multiply by 1.609 to get min/mile. For example, 6 min/km = 9.65 min/mile.
