Shish Kebab Trophy Guide: Marvel’s Wolverine

Card No. 06·23931 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

The calculator on this card is switched off while it is checked. The formula is below, and the worked example shows how to do the sum by hand.

This guide explains how to earn the “Shish Kebab” trophy in Marvel’s Wolverine (the PS5 game), which requires you to kill 5 enemies with one use of the Berserk Mode’s claw spin attack. You need to unlock the skill, build up your Berserk meter, group enemies tightly, and time the spin so all five die in a single activation.

Formula

The trophy condition is simple: one spin attack must kill five enemies. The spin’s damage per hit scales with how many Berserk meter sections you have filled. The formula for damage is:

Damage per hit = 60% + (10% × number of Berserk sections filled)

So with 3 sections filled, each hit deals 90% of a standard enemy’s health. With 5 sections, it deals 110%, which will one-shot most basic enemies. The kills estimate is just the number of enemies in the group, capped at 5, because that’s all the trophy requires.

Worked Example

Using the default values: 3 Berserk sections and 6 enemies in a tight group.

  1. Damage per hit = 60% + (10% × 3) = 90% of enemy HP.
  2. Most basic enemies have 100 HP, so 90% leaves them with 10 HP.
  3. If you have already weakened them slightly (e.g., with a light attack), the spin will kill them.
  4. Kills = min(6, 5) = 5, which meets the trophy condition.

So the calculator shows you need at least 5 enemies, and you should weaken them if your Berserk meter isn’t full.

How the Trophy Works

The “Shish Kebab” trophy is a combat challenge in Marvel’s Wolverine. It triggers when you kill five enemies with a single activation of the Berserk mode’s spinning claw attack. This is not a cumulative count—all five must die from the same spin.

Key mechanics:

  • Berserk mode is a meter-based ability that fills as you deal and take damage.
  • Once full, you can activate it, and the spin attack is a special move you perform while Berserk is active.
  • The spin hits all enemies in a small radius around you.
  • Enemies must be close together and have low enough health to die from the spin’s damage.

How to Unlock the Spin Attack

You need to unlock the skill that enables the spin attack during Berserk mode. This is in the skill tree, usually under the Berserk branch. You’ll need skill points, which you earn from leveling up and completing side missions. The spin attack is not available from the start; you must invest in the skill tree.

Steps to unlock:

  1. Open the skill tree from the pause menu.
  2. Navigate to the Berserk section.
  3. Purchase the skill named “Claw Spin” or similar (the exact name may vary).
  4. Equip it if required.

How to Get Five Kills in One Spin

This is the core challenge. You need to set up the situation so that five enemies are grouped and weak enough to die from one spin.

  • Build your Berserk meter – Fight normally, parry attacks, and use light combos to fill the meter. Avoid using Berserk until you have a large group.
  • Gather enemies – Use L2 to lock onto one enemy and move toward a cluster. Use the dodge to circle around and push enemies together. Some enemies will naturally bunch up when they attack.
  • Weaken them – If your Berserk meter is only at 3 sections, you’ll need to damage enemies first. Use a few light attacks on each, but don’t kill them. You want them at about 10-20% health.
  • Activate Berserk and spin – Trigger Berserk and immediately press the spin attack button. Make sure you are in the center of the group.

Common Problems and Fixes

Many players struggle with this trophy. Here are the typical issues and how to solve them:

  • Not enough enemies – The game doesn’t always throw five enemies at you. Go to a mission with large groups, like the hideout raids or the final act areas.
  • Enemies survive the spin – If your Berserk meter is low, the spin won’t kill. Fill the meter fully (5 sections) before trying. Or weaken enemies first.
  • Spin misses some enemies – The spin has a limited radius. Make sure you are in the middle of the group. Use the lock-on to stay centered.
  • Enemies die before you spin – Don’t use heavy attacks that kill. Use light attacks to weaken, and avoid finishing moves.

Best Locations to Attempt

Some areas have larger enemy groups than others. Look for missions where you fight waves of standard enemies, such as:

  • The hideout raids in the late game.
  • The final mission’s arena fights.
  • Side missions that involve clearing out a compound.

In these areas, enemies often spawn in groups of six or more. Use the environment to funnel them together—corridors and narrow spaces work well.

Alternative Strategies

If the direct approach isn’t working, try these:

  • Use a grenade – Throw a frag grenade to weaken a group, then spin.
  • Use the environment – Lure enemies near explosive barrels, then shoot the barrel to weaken them.
  • Lower the difficulty – On easy mode, enemies have less health, so the spin will kill them more easily.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to kill exactly five enemies, or more is okay?

More is fine. The trophy requires at least five kills from one spin. If you kill six or seven, it still counts.

Does the spin attack have to be the killing blow?

Yes, the spin must deal the final damage to each of the five enemies. If you weaken them with other attacks, that’s fine, but the spin has to land the killing hit.

Can I get this trophy in New Game Plus?

Yes, the trophy can be earned in any playthrough, including New Game Plus. You’ll have more skills unlocked, which can make it easier.

What if I have the spin attack but it doesn’t kill?

Check your Berserk meter. If it’s not full, the spin does less damage. Also, make sure you’re not fighting elite enemies—they have more health and won’t die in one spin.

Does the trophy require a specific difficulty?

No, you can earn it on any difficulty. Lower difficulties make it easier because enemies have less health.

Can I use the spin attack outside of Berserk mode?

No, the spin attack is only available while Berserk mode is active. You must activate Berserk first.
