Solo Leveling Ragnarok Chapter 46 is not permanently canceled; it was delayed due to the artist’s health issues and a scheduled break, with the new release date set for May 8, 2025. The official announcement came from the publisher, D&C Media, via the series’ social media channels, confirming that Chapter 46 will be published on Naver Series and other platforms on that date.
Why Was Chapter 46 Delayed?
The delay was announced on April 29, 2025, on the official Solo Leveling Ragnarok social media accounts. The notice stated that the artist, Kim Jae-hwan, needed time to recover from health issues. This is not the first time the series has taken a break for the artist’s well-being; similar pauses occurred in late 2024 and early 2025. The publisher emphasized that the health of the creative team is a priority and asked for fans’ understanding.
What Was the Original Release Schedule?
Before the delay, Chapter 46 was expected to release on May 1, 2025, following the series’ usual weekly release pattern. The manhwa typically updates every Thursday on Naver Series and other platforms. The delay pushed the release by exactly one week, which is a common length for such breaks, allowing the artist to rest without disrupting the story’s momentum for too long.
How Does the Delay Affect the Story?
The delay does not change the story’s plot or pacing. Chapter 45 ended with a major cliffhanger: Sung Suho, the protagonist, was about to face the Ant King, a powerful monster from the original Solo Leveling series. Fans will have to wait an extra week to see the outcome of this battle. The hiatus is purely for production reasons, not for story restructuring.
Where Can You Read Chapter 46 When It Releases?
When Chapter 46 drops on May 8, 2025, it will be available on the same platforms that have been publishing the series. In South Korea, Naver Series is the primary source. For international readers, the official English translation is available on Webtoon, where the series is titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. The English release typically follows the Korean release by a few hours or a day, depending on the platform’s schedule.
Is This Delay Related to the Anime or Game?
No, the delay is entirely separate from the Solo Leveling anime adaptation or the mobile game Solo Leveling: Arise. The anime’s second season, which covers the Jeju Island arc, is produced by A-1 Pictures and is on its own schedule. The game is developed by Netmarble and has no connection to the manhwa’s production. The delay only affects the webtoon’s release.
What Happens If the Artist Needs More Time?
If the artist requires additional recovery time, the publisher may announce a further extension. However, as of now, no such announcement has been made. In the past, when the series took breaks, the publisher gave at least a week’s notice before the scheduled return. Fans should monitor the official social media accounts for any updates if the May 8 date changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Chapter 46 be the last chapter?
No, Chapter 46 is not the final chapter. The series is ongoing, and the story is expected to continue well beyond this point. The delay is just a temporary pause in the weekly schedule.
Is the delay due to a legal issue?
No, there is no indication of any legal problems. The official announcement clearly states the reason is the artist’s health. No other factors have been cited.
Why does the artist need a week off?
Webtoon artists often work under intense schedules, producing a full chapter every week. This can lead to physical and mental exhaustion. The week off allows the artist to rest, receive medical care if needed, and return to work with reduced risk of a longer hiatus.
Will the English translation also be delayed?
Yes, the English translation will be delayed by the same week. The translation process typically begins after the Korean chapter is finalized, so the English release will also move from May 1 to May 8, 2025.
Is there a way to read the raws early?
No, the raw Korean version will not be released early. The delay applies to all versions of the chapter, regardless of language. Reading unofficial scans is not recommended, as it harms the creators.
What should I do while waiting?
You can re-read the previous chapters, catch up on the original Solo Leveling manhwa or novel, or check out other works by the same artist. The official Solo Leveling: Ragnarok novel, which the manhwa adapts, is also available and can provide context for the story’s future events.
