Capybara Mutations: Every Multiplier & How to Get Them

Card No. 06·31233 · Updated · Standard formula, shown below

This article explains every capybara mutation multiplier in the game and exactly how to obtain each one. You’ll learn the full list of mutations, their effects on your capybara’s stats, and the breeding and event strategies that unlock them.

What Are Capybara Mutations?

Mutations are special genetic variations that permanently alter a capybara’s appearance and provide stat multipliers. Each mutation has a unique visual trait (like a different fur color or pattern) and a numeric multiplier that boosts one or more of the capybara’s core stats: health, speed, strength, or luck. The multiplier is applied to the base stat value, so a capybara with a 2x speed multiplier will have double the speed of a non-mutated capybara of the same level.

Complete List of Mutation Multipliers

Here is every mutation currently in the game, its multiplier effect, and how to obtain it:

  • Golden Capybara – 1.5x luck multiplier. Obtained by breeding two capybaras with a combined luck stat over 200.
  • Albino Capybara – 1.5x health multiplier. Obtained by breeding two capybaras with a combined health stat over 250.
  • Glowing Capybara – 2x strength multiplier. Obtained by breeding two capybaras with a combined strength stat over 300.
  • Shadow Capybara – 2x speed multiplier. Obtained by breeding two capybaras with a combined speed stat over 300.
  • Rainbow Capybara – 1.5x all stats multiplier. Obtained by breeding a Golden and an Albino capybara together.
  • Cosmic Capybara – 2.5x all stats multiplier. Obtained by breeding any two legendary mutations (Golden, Albino, Glowing, Shadow, or Rainbow) together.

How to Get Mutations Through Breeding

Breeding is the primary way to obtain mutations. To breed, you need a male and a female capybara in the same enclosure. The offspring has a chance to inherit a mutation based on the parents’ stats and whether they themselves are mutated. Here are the key rules:

  • Base mutation chance is 5% per breeding attempt.
  • If both parents are the same mutation, the chance for that mutation increases to 15%.
  • If both parents have a combined stat above the threshold for a mutation, the chance for that specific mutation increases by 5%.
  • Breeding two different mutations increases the chance of a Rainbow or Cosmic mutation, but the specific odds are not publicly disclosed by the developers.
  • Mutations are not inherited from parents—the offspring’s mutation is randomly determined at birth.

Alternative Ways to Obtain Mutations

Besides breeding, there are a few other ways to get mutations:

  • Event Rewards: During limited-time in-game events (like the Lunar New Year or Halloween), you can earn special mutation tokens by completing challenges. These tokens can be exchanged for a specific mutation of your choice.
  • Mutation Potion: A rare item that can be purchased from the in-game shop or earned as a rare drop from boss battles. When used on a capybara, it gives a 50% chance to apply a random mutation.
  • Daily Spin: The daily wheel of fortune has a small chance (around 1%) to land on a mutation prize, which grants a random mutation to a random capybara in your collection.

How to Choose the Right Mutation

The best mutation depends on your play style. If you focus on racing, prioritize speed mutations like Shadow. For battle modes, strength (Glowing) or health (Albino) are more useful. For resource gathering or treasure hunting, luck (Golden) is ideal. The Rainbow and Cosmic mutations are versatile for general play since they boost all stats, but they are harder to obtain. Consider your current team composition and the activities you enjoy most before investing in a specific mutation.

Common Mistakes and Misconceptions

One common mistake is assuming that the offspring of two mutated parents will always inherit a mutation. In reality, the chance is only 15% if both parents have the same mutation, and even then it’s not guaranteed. Another misconception is that raising a capybara’s level increases its mutation multiplier. It does not—the multiplier is fixed at birth. Also, some players think that feeding a capybara special food can trigger a mutation, but there is no food that influences mutation outcomes. Finally, remember that mutations are permanent; there is no way to remove or change a mutation once a capybara has it.

Costs and Time Investment

Breeding requires in-game currency (coins) and time. Each breeding attempt costs 500 coins and takes 24 hours to complete. You can speed up the process by spending gems, but that can get expensive. Mutation potions cost 250 gems each, and event tokens are earned by completing event challenges, which usually take several days of active play. The daily spin is free but has a very low chance of yielding a mutation. Overall, obtaining a specific mutation can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks of consistent play, depending on your luck and resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a mutation from a wild capybara? No, mutations only occur through breeding, events, or using a mutation potion. Wild capybaras always have no mutation.

Do mutations stack? No, each capybara can only have one mutation. The multiplier from that mutation applies to the base stats, and there is no way to have multiple mutations on a single capybara.

What happens if I breed two different mutations? You have a chance to get a Rainbow or Cosmic mutation, but the odds are lower than breeding two of the same mutation. The offspring will never have both parent mutations—it will either have one of the parent mutations or a new one.

Are mutation multipliers affected by leveling up? No, the multiplier is fixed. Leveling up increases your capybara’s base stats, and the mutation multiplier is applied to those increased base stats, so the overall benefit grows, but the multiplier itself stays the same.

Is there a limit to how many mutations I can have in my collection? No, you can have as many mutated capybaras as your enclosure space allows. Each mutated capybara takes up one slot, so you may need to expand your habitat to keep more.

Can I sell a mutated capybara? Yes, you can sell any capybara, including mutated ones, for coins. The sale price is higher for mutated capybaras, but you will lose the mutation permanently.
